Dear Public - Supply,

My students are so excited to begin reading their new library books. Each English class I teach will start each morning with reading a self-chosen book within the writers of color library you funded. It makes all the difference for readers to have stories about characters that look like them or have similar experiences.

At the end of the quarter, students will write an essay on their book. Students chose their books based upon their preferences. So I am attaching in photos the writings the students wrote about why they chose their specific book and any knowledge they learned thus far. I appreciate your help in bringing modern writers of color to my classroom.
