Classroom 020

Many, many thanks to all of you for your generous support of my 7th grade scientists-in-training through helping fund a collaboration 3D printer for our classroom! This 3D printer will provide my students with exciting, unique and incredibly authentic hands-on opportunities to develop their S.T.E.M. skills this school year. From the idea phase in which they will generate real-life situations and challenges that affect human health, to the actual designing and creation of a model solution to their challenge, my students will learn and grow immeasurably.  Most of my students represent populations that are presently vastly underrepresented in S.T.E.M careers; by having experiences using new technology to creatively and rigorously problem solve complex, real-life scenarios, I hope that many of my students will gain the curiosity, familiarity, practice and proficiency to one day pursue careers in the fields of science, technology, engineering and mathematics. This 3D printer will nourish student creativity, critical thinking, curiosity and collaborationâ€"all skills that are invaluable for success in any career, and S.T.E.M careers in particular.  I am so excited for them, and so appreciative and thankful for your support, and I can't wait to share the fruits of this project with my science and math colleagues. Thank you all so much!
