From the Teacher

First of all, thank you for the donations! I have a beading club and it is new this year and it is to help kids attend a class that they are passionate about. I wanted to help my students feel confident in themselves by creating beaded jewelry. We made simple bracelets that they can show their friends and family. My club is every two weeks on a Friday and is a place for them let their creativity flow. Many of them have never made anything and so they were very excited to attend my club.

When I showed them all the colorful beads and examples of the bracelets my students were so excited. Many of them were thinking about the colors that they were going to use. They were all eager to get started. This helped them figure out their own personalities and patience. Once I showed them the process they were ready to get started. They learned that it is important not to give up. Many of them dropped their beads and had to start over. I kept encouraging them and many were able to finish.

Now, they are moving on to making other pieces of jewelry and some realize that this is too tedious for their personality. For the most part they are making bracelets for friends or family. They were their first bracelets and they feel good knowing they had made something beautiful. I am so happy to help bring this into their lives. Thank you again!

With gratitude,
Ms. Harrison
