From the Teacher

This project has benefited my classroom because the students looked forward to coming to class. They loved being able to show their artist point of view and feeling a sense of accomplishment. Many of these students were shy or never participated in the regular classroom activities because they were unsure and insecure about their academic skills, but when we put the paint brush on their hands I witnessed a transformation, not only in their feelings towards school, but in their self confidence. I believe that learning can happen in many ways and that the arts is a great way to reach disenfranchised students.
